Check out Hulk’s Diary and Vagabonding/Vagablogging:

If you ever read Rolf Pott’s great Vagabonding stories in Salon, that’s him. He’s got a book of the same name from Random House, and a great blog. It was silent for a month while he went to Paris, but he just got back to Thailand and is active posting again. Really fine writer.

And Hulk’s Diary is a hoot.

Not much to say

You inspired me. I told you how jealous I was of your header pic (just the mtn one; I can do without the city haze, which seems to come up more). I liked the one I had till I saw yours.

So last night I went searching and searching and searching, and pasting and editing and mucking around. Turned out there were all kinds of minute requirements for the pic to be dark here, light there for the text to show up. Plus I discovered I wanted certain shades of certain colors to brighten the page up, but not too much. And of course it was a very small window to get everything I wanted, and it needed a whole lot of pixels to work that wide.

I started around 7 p.m., messed around till 3. Jeez. That was Saturday night. I need a 12-step program. And I still don’t COMPLETELY love it, but I do like it a lot more than what I had.

Let me know what you tink. (sic). por favor.

Fun day

Yup, it’s a bar. Wait, technically it’s a danceclub. No alcohol. People either drink first, or obtain other chemical controls. I was just drunk, of course.

It stays open till about 5, depending on the crowd.

It’s not technically gay, just mostly. They keep trying to draw a straight crowd on fridays, and some show up just for the dancing, but mostly they keep drawing the gayboys. best dance club in town, by far.

Hey, I’m a cool dude!

You too. Really enjoyed it.

I was still grappling with my Slate piece, so I did not allow myself a hangover. I do have one today, however. I kept working until midnight, jumped in the shower with a big glass of vodka and diet sprite (it was available), and pounded beer and tequila for an hour when I got there. So of course I had to go to Amsterdam till 4. Could have been worse. I ususally stay till closing.

i have not slept more than 4 hours in a night all week. Anything less than 8 and I’m usually a little pissy. I’m so tired.

T3: Rise of the Machines

I love your pic on top. Was it there last time? I’m sure I would have remembered. Looks like you have two different ones that rotate. I love the mountain one. Better than mine (on my blog). I’m jealous.
