I may have to rethink this marriage thing

Me: So, can we watch The French Connection tonight?
Beth: Naww, how about we watch more Alias.
Me: Why, what’s wrong with the movie?
Beth: I’m just not that into Gene Hackman.
Me: How can you not be into Gene Hackman? He’s Gene Fucking Hackman fer crissakes!
Update: So how about Clint Eastwood?
Beth: Eh…
Me: Gah!

Tell her you want to watch it for Roy Scheider.
update: Which Eastwood, by the way?
Not one in particular. He was just another of my favorite actors that I figured she might not like. Not good looking enough, too old, Westerns.
Man, I don’t understand chicks. I mean, I’d do Eastwood c. 1971.
I doubt she’s ever seen a c. 1971 Eastwood movie.
There you go: just throw in Dirty Harry, sit back, and watch her gradually drift over in front of the teevee.
She’s never seen The Outlaw Josie Whales?
Man, I just got her to watch The French Connection, and she hated it. There’s no chance she’ll watch Dirty Harry or The Outlaw Josie Wales. Hell, there’s almost no chance she’ll watch another 70s movie at all.
Wait, I’m confused. Did you say, in reference to Clint Eastwood, not good looking enough? Man, especially in his early days, Clint was a hottie.
Just sayin’.
Now, I agree with Z and Jeff. But it’s a sausage party in here. Rae may think that Clint was hot, but she didn’t actually say, so I’m thinking maybe he’s one of those guys that guys want to look like but girls don’t really like.
Anyway, Beth don’t like Clint. Unless he’s behind the camera, cause she digs some Mystic River.
You make a strong point.
Obviously, we need more of a feminine influence here.
