Little Green Footballs finds a Kos diarist who thinks Karl Rove gave CBS the fake TANG documents. Oh wait, that wouldn’t be a story. But what if it wasn’t a Kossack, but a prominent lefite columnist? Still not enough to shock, really, Maureen Dowd will probably say anything these days.
Am I naive, or is it truly crazy that a fargin’ United States Congressman would spout this sort of conspiracy nonsense?
That’s right, an elected Federal official thinks, with a complete lack of evidence, that Rove created those word docs and fed them to Mary Mapes in order to discredit Dan Rather and distract our attention from evidence that Bush is a “draft dodger.”
The current reaction from the rollcall of morons (well, from six of them, because I got tired of reading their pages and ran out of adjectives to describe silence), those calling for the head of an unelected member of the media who has not declared his party affiliation or voting record? Complete, utter, deafening, and totally silent silence.
Update: Well, the silence has been broken, I suppose. But it’s not a Kos post, it’s just buried in the diaries. And, of course, it’s a semi-apologetic half-defense of the crazed Hinchey. Even tries to tie this to Gannon somehow.
But it doesn’t mention Halliburton or Hitler or Nazis, so it’s got that going for it.

You right-wing loonies might have a case if the assertion were being made to initiate an investigation, but modest speculation that Karl Rove might engage in dirty tricks (oh, heaven forfend!) is hardly worth hyperventilating about.
After all, Bush’s own biography is consistent with the assertion that he was a slacker and a screw-up in the early ’70s. It is only the liberals in this country who have the sense to percieve that he is STILL as screw-up, only now he is dangerous because you idiots have placed him in a position of power!
Well, that isn’t completely accurate. In the 70s there was a chance that he might have actually shown up to fly one of his planes and crashed it into some innocent soul because he was freaking out after a 2 week coke and booze bing. Wait a second, a two week coke and booze bing might just explain the idiocy that is the Bush foreign policy. We need to piss test the “commander-in-chief” now! I’m not sure what sort of mind bending chemical(s) can explain his domestic policies…
I like how you impugn Maureen Dowd for things she hasn’t even done. I prefer to impugn your hero, our idiot-in-chief, for the things he HAS done. I’d love to see that worthless sack of crap YOU people put in the White House on trial for war crimes. Perhaps we could even listen to a good liberal mock him as he begs for mercy rather than execution! Pursuing the whole “Rove did it” meme would only prove two things: the right-wing is headed up by a sneaky evil genius and the left-wing is comprised of morons.
