I’m employed!

January 9th, 2004

Whoo hoo! I got a job! It only took nine months and seven days, over one hundred applications, and around a dozen interviews, but I’ll be going to the office sometime next week. I’m gonna be making about three bucks an hour less than I was, but who cares! I’d be grateful for a little over minimum wage at this point.

Tonight Beth and I go to Outback for some beefy goodness, but right now I gotta finish watching season five of Buffy while I still have time. I guess I will miss some things about unemployment.

    I really don’t care about the cut in pay. It’s still a shitload more than I’ve made in the last nine months. And the job sounds pretty exciting.

    Congrats Matt… and I hear ya. I wish I had been applying for the shit jobs all along. Now the excitment for my day was going through a new driver orientation and finishing up the paperwork for my hack license. As soon as the drug test comes back on Tuesday, I ought to be behind a wheel and hopefully making a dollar or two. If someone had told me three years ago that I’d be out of work for 7 months and climbing, well, I’d have saved some of that stock option payout money from Verio. Who’s kidding… I’d have laughed at them while I drank it all away….
