Lileks tempts fate; Fanboys riot

James Lileks saw Revolutions, and he really, really doesn’t like AICN’s review of it. In fact, he doesn’t like Harry Knowles’ writing at all, and I totally agree with him. The guy can never just write a fargin’ review, he always has to make it mean something about the wider world, or it has to be very personal. So instead of a readable, three paragraph review that lets us know if we should wait for DVD we get long, turgid, meaningless rants that inform us about nothing at all.

Of course, Lileks is taking a much bigger chance of getting flamed by fanboys than I. He’s a brave man, or maybe his inbox is still over quota.

  1. Aren’t “fanboys” by definition teens? I dunno why, but whenever I hear that term (or “fangirls”) I always think of juveniles. Ergo, I can’t imagine fanboys or girls being smart enough or old enough or experienced enough in life to read Lileks.

So I wonder how much flame he gets.
