Tax breaks for SUVs
October 12th, 2003
60 Minutes just informed me that there is a twenty-five thousand dollar tax credit for the purchase of any truck that weighs over six thousand pounds and is used for business at least half the time. Originally designed so small businesses could afford delivery trucks and the like, it’s now being used by real estate agents to save a big chunk of change on a new car. They would get the Lexus or the Beemer sedan, but instead they get the LandCruiser or the Hummer and they save, what, twenty-eight to thirty-six percent of twenty-five grand? That’s a little under 10k back in their pocket.
Nice move, Guvmint.

Yeah… I heard about that one quite a while ago… sigh…
I was wondering how they were able to afford all those big new expensive trucks for their business.
it’s funny how new laws & rules work out sometimes
Funny? Funny! FUNNY!
Unless you mean Funny Uh-Oh instead of Funny Ha-Ha — which I can only assume is not the case, given the presence of your smiley emoticon — then, no, no sireebob: it’s not funny.
It fucking makes me sick to my ass. Motherfuckers are a fucking disgrace to the nation.
Sweety lives in Denmark or somesuch, cut her some slack.
Tax Credit for Incinerator and Extravaganza?
Just a questions to follow up on – as time allows … I hear that SUVs (SportBrutes) above a certain size (GVWR) get a tax credit … yes, a tax credit …! I want to know what happened to…
