Low carb subs
I bet Beth last night that with Subway, McDonalds, and Burger King all trying hard to capture the low-fat market it was only a matter of time till one of them (probably Subway) put out a sandwich with under fifteen carbs. Well, it’s happened, but it’s being made by Blimpie and it only has seven to nine carbs in the whole sub.
Also reported is McDonalds’ new diet custimization menu. Low fat, low carb, and low calorie menus are currently available in test markets. I’m guessing that they swap out the bun with something whole grain for the Atkins’ burger, the patty with a veggie burger in the low fat one, and both for the low cal. In-N-Out (which needs to expand a couple of states eastward) is currently selling a burger wrapped in lettuce, which sounds great. I may start asking that burger places substitute a big lettuce leaf for the bun, it’s annoying eating a burger with silverware.
Atkins’ will take over the world!
Update: Damn, normal Blimpie’s bread has over forty grams of carb! I can’t believe they managed to get the whole sandwich (vegetables, mayo, and cheese all have a few carbs) down to eight grams.

:p Okay, okay. You win.
It’s called the same ingredients of your sub in bowl form: salad.

Beth - Of course I win, I’ve got about 20 IQ points on you.
hln - Actually, those sandwiches sound pretty good to me.
Subway has had “turn your sub into a salad” here for quite soem time, a good low carb option if that’s your thang… But a nice grain bread would be great too.

Not that I care… I’m trying to put ON weight so I’m all about the carbs… that + protein, at least.
Huh, I wonder if Subway does that salad thing here. I haven’t been to Subway in years.
But I prefer Blimpie’s idea: seven grain bread.
Oh, and you’re trying to gain weight?
Screw you.
Tried the McDonalds ‘veggie’ burger (which no strict vegetarian would EVER eat as they are all cooked on the same ‘grill’). It sucked. The only fast food veggie burger I found worth eating comes from Harvey’s (which is a chain mostly found in lumber stores for some reason). I get a kick out of how fast food companies localize products. Did you know that where I grew up they have the McLobster Sandwich?
McLobster? Ewww…
Yes…Subway does the salad thing here and what I lack in brains I make up for in beauty and brawn.

Again With A
Kate brings us back to the pointy letter of our dreams. As the Fonz would say, Ayyyyy. Heheh. A is…
ugh…how can anyone eat at subway? all their meat tastes the same. and i like how they sell ‘cheese.’ not cheddar or american or swiss. just ‘cheese.’
btw don’t you mean in-n-out should expand _eastward_? unless youre in hawaii…
Uh, yea, eastward. Thanks.
