Final results of the SFB: 2003
Once again the blog world has come together and winnowed a large number of competitors down to one, the Sexiest Female Blogger. This year’s poll was quite a bit less tumultuous than last year’s. There was no major cheating, when a year ago I could see entire computer labs from northeastern universities vote, one computer after the other. Then I could watch every IP from some Internet proxy vote for a different blogger. I’m guessing that if the vote had been closer (last year it came down to the wire) the cheating would have been rampant.
I also didn’t see much hatred for running such a sexist contest. That makes me happy, people are finally realizing that this is just a silly contest, and isn’t a comment on male/female relationships, sexism in our culture, or anything else important.
Well, without further ado, here are the top ten Sexiest Female Bloggers:
10. Moxie is an attractive blogger, with lots of pictures all over her site and a fairly large readership, so I expected her to do better than 40 votes. But she didn’t link to the poll, so let that be a lesson to you, campaign, ladies!
8. We’ve got a tie for eighth between Rebecca, one of my favorites, and J-Mo at 41 votes. J-Mo makes a strong showing for a new contestant, especially for one that doesn’t run in my blog circles, but I’m disappointed with Rebecca’s place. She did a lot better last year, but that’s probably because she’d just posted a rather erotic thing about mashed potatoes and she was a front-runner early on.
7. Rachel, lusted after by right-wing gun lovers everywhere, hits number seven with 44 votes.
6. In sixth place, with 45 votes, we have Statia, who, in my opinion, has the sexiest name in the contest.
5. Gennie tried to make a run at the lead towards the end. She didn’t make it all the way to the top, but fifth is very respectable, and each contestant from here on out wins a tiara. Enjoy!
4. Fourth place goes to another blogger I’d not heard of, Nicole. I’m actually surprised she didn’t do better that 67 votes, according to my referral logs she sent me a lot of traffic.
3. Now we really start to break away from the pack. With 126 votes Annika, at one time the vote leader, comes in third. Based on the pics on her blog, Annika’s a really cute girl, and I expect her to do even better next year.
2. In second place we have Yvonne, owner of the second sexiest name in the poll. She proves that aged and confused does not equal dowdy.
And the winner, by huge popular acclamation, is Emma, beloved by Slashdot geeks the world over. Emma was a late entrant into the race, she only began campaigning on Monday, but she still managed to amass over a third of the vote with 665 ballots going her way. I’m not sure about how the rules of dating your friend’s little sister work on the Internet, but even if Isaac said yes, she’s much too sexy for me.
That concludes the second annual Sexiest Female Blogger. If any other contestants would like to know their vote total, send me an email. Hope to see you next year!

Sexiest Femal Blogger Contest Comes to an End
Well, the SFB contest is over. Two of my suggestions made the top five, and another on top of that…
*claps* Congrats Emma, you earned it darlin’.
Navel gazing
By the way, say hello to the official fourth Sexiest Female Blogger. Yep, ’cause I’m sexy, dammit. But not sexier…
Earned what? Since when did being sexy take effort?
K…I was being nice.
Being voted sexy in a blogger poll definitely takes effort. Emma put a lot of effort into getting those readers.
Exactly the point I was trying to make in my congratulations. I certainly didn’t mean to offend anyone by it.
No one was offended, Gennie. The Internet just likes to nitpick. Either the SFB was based too much on looks, or too little. Can’t please anyone.
That’s for sure.
Well it was fun. Can’t wait for next year.
Sweet! That makes me feel so good. I was sure last year that I wasn’t going to do this again, but this year I’m sure I will.
Cor Blimey! Who knew? This from the girl who once stabbed me in the brain with a lead pencil, even?
I’ve added ‘Brother To The Sexiest Female Blogger’ to my resume, and Emma and I went out for Exotic Rice Puddings to celebrate her tiara’d superlative-hood.
