Blogroll deletions/addition

I had to finally delete Laughing Boy and The Last Page from my blogroll. Unfortunately, both of these fine blogs haven’t published a new post in about forever. Someone let me know if they come back from hiatus.

I also added What’s on it for Me?, which is a great blog by a lawyer who really has a good eye for template design. I’ve got four or five more slots open in the blogroll, so let me know if I’m missing anything good.

  1. Check out Hulk’s Diary and Vagabonding/Vagablogging:

If you ever read Rolf Pott’s great Vagabonding stories in Salon, that’s him. He’s got a book of the same name from Random House, and a great blog. It was silent for a month while he went to Paris, but he just got back to Thailand and is active posting again. Really fine writer.

And Hulk’s Diary is a hoot.

  2. I’m not a big travel writing fan, and I think that the Hulk thing is kinda a flash in the pan. But thanks for the ideas.

  3. Well, Matt… I’m sorry to lose the link! But I know what it’s like to be oogling other peoples’ ghost towns. (I went through that with you, myself, a while back!) If you’re jones’n for a Me-Fix, I recently made a cameo over at Edward Cossette’s fantastic Bambino’s Curse:

That was on the front page of the New England regional Fox Sports site for a few days. Of course: it didn’t pay a dime, and I’m no fan of Rupert Murdoch Global Domination Enterprises plc, but it was fun to see my name in lights, as it were.

Anyway: the news from Lake Wobegon is that I’ve upped and moved out of Boston, and to my eternal shame (as a card-carrying Red Sox loon) down to New York. I’ve landed what just might be my dream job (remains to be seen, but looking good so far!) and am living, for the time being, in the most ridiculously trendy neighborhood I’ve ever seen. Only had to mug 387 people to make rent this month, too!

The best part is that apparently Puffy has his office in the same building as our office. I keep waiting to see him in the elevator. What do you even say to Puff Daddy, when you have the chance? Maybe I should run that as an auction on eBay… you think people would pay me X greenbacks to spout their self-promoting poppycock at P. Diddy? I could record my pitch/mercenary-adulations/castigations and audio blog it. Hmmmm….

    Best – Isaac

p.s. If you’re reading this, and you already know who I am, drop me a note. I’d love to hear from any and all bloggerati; I’ve been woefully remiss in keeping up on e-mail during this whole transition into a new Total Life Package. My bad.

  4. Wow, he’s still alive. Good to hear from you, Isaac.

If I remember correctly I lost my link on your site during my hiatus, so this is the only right thing to do. Keep us posted on your activities.

  5. That’s true, but I took your link down mostly because your software publishes blank pages if you let it set too long between updates — so I was literally linking to an empty page, which didn’t seem like fun for my readers.

Whereas MY site just looks like that scene in Pulp Fiction, where Uma draws the magic rectangle in the sky. Magic rectangles, and alt text abound, over at Laughing Boy. It sucks, but there’s nothing for it; too much else to do right now.

Funniest thing is I’m getting paid to blog right now, but the blog I’m working on is on our intranet, for an internal audience. Weird how life works out, innit?

    Good luck with the poll!
