In rememberance of the unions

Samuel Gompers called Labor Day “the day for which the toilers in past centuries looked forward, when their rights and their wrongs would be discussed…that the workers of our day may not only lay down their tools of labor for a holiday, but also get really drunk and eat a large number of grilled brats.” As I write this, there are burly men scampering over the half-built roof of the new apartment complex across the street.

Now I’m off to retreive the hot-pager, so that I may be on call 24/7 in case a website goes down.
